MF兄所言极是.......SL6真的很难推,记得那天用NAD的S100+S200推,声音一个字,......烂!!!但我又听过推得比较好的声音.
LP那天在旁说了一句:箱是便宜,但功放的钱不知要花上多少陪!!!!最后还是放弃了!!![s:11]

Mplayer可用作示波器！！！

你能找到粉红噪音的盘就更好啦

The biggest difference between single driver vs multi driver is crossover, all those caps and resistors. You can easily hear te directness of single driver speaker, seems it has lifted off a veil. Everything has become clearer and dynamic. This applies only a certain frequencies. They are poor in extreme frequencies, notably in hi and low. No one claimed they have good bass. Soundstage is fair, imaging is larger than life. If you are a soundstage guy, there are other better speakers.
My friend ought a pair of Zu Druid MkVI, but I have not listen to it.  
In general, single driver tend to be abit thin and shouty.

Oh my God! I have opened a can of worm! :Q

I brought back a power amp 100w, connect them to SL6s. Powered up, in the very first minute, both drivers were moving before I turn the volume. I can not explain this. Turn the volume to 9 oclock, o shit, one driver started to rattling then another.
SL6s can not take the brutal power of this amp. And now, I have left with a pair of SL6s that rattles. Changed to the previous amp, the problem still exist, even though there is sound from the driver.

How serious is the damage? Do you guys think it can be repaired? Really sad![s:16]

rattle in high or low? or the cone touched the magnet?  the surrounding crackd? not sure how is "rattle".

it's weird to me: if the 100W is defect, it'd be gone when u switch back to your existing amp.

don't understand...need more detail lah

for transistor gears, there may be dc comes out if somethng wrong, but yes you can c the cone move, thats low freq.

but why persist when u goes back? ......no clue.

I guess i hv to c it to believe, no chance yet in SH.

i agree the bass cannot rock.  i don't like rock anyway, as long as it's good with double bass.

still not sure it's the soundstage i admire most or the ambience, so i may give a shot, may...looking for a chance to drive me in...may be the super light cone/coil complex give me teh illusion, may be the super gauss magnet or just may be i need something new.

the lowther clubs everywhere for a reason, just dun know whether is my cup of tea.  image size may be doable -- b4 i fail...

Hi Henry,

Confirmed by the technician that my beloved Celestion SL6s is blown. A sad day of my life. My Celestion will never sound the same again. The drivers were stuck to the voice coil, little movement. The technician will access if there any damage to the tweeter too, if yes, I would have to bury SL6s. This is the cause of the leakage in th power amp. [s:16]

Single driver bass does not have even the Celestion's weight. The bass sounded light and loose. So, any decent bass material would suffer. My experience with singe driver is play within its loudness, simple acousitc music or vocal, not too emphasize on soundstage and listen from a distance, it will be magic. Single driver will get confused when playing large scale music.

It is really stupid of me never to check on the amp especially an old amp. They inherit common problems like aged cap and dc leakage.

I have acquired another pair of SL6S some months back right after I decided that Celestion is speaker that I wanted. Paid high price due to the condition. I noticed that this pair sounded slightly different, more dynamic, transparent, detailm, cleaner and less boxiness. Suspect that has undergone modfications. Of course, trade off is the warmth.  Should audition SL600 to determine if they sound close.

This gives me a deeper understanding of SL6s. Go with warm sounding, hi current amp, you will never go wrong. Densen Beat, Holfi, Primare and Quad are ok. Do not have spend a bomb again.

如果你真的找到时间做，我建议你用粉红噪音，跟听音乐的环境比较接近。而且录好后用Mplayer 播的话一眼就可以知道所有频段的平衡度。

噢，还需要频率对应频段，附件的PPT可能有用。操作方法如下（有点繁，不过免费的啦，不能强求 o罗）：

你在Mplayer播的时候按 prt sc (在键盘的右上角附近），

然后贴到PPT里面，

把图上的黑色除掉（按图，在图片工具栏选铅笔，点在图片黑色的部分就行）

把图的宽度调好跟我档案里的图一样，。。。
