So here's a new test build:
http://madshi.net/madVRhdrMeasure37.zip
This time it's a test build for everyone, not just for users of the "live algo". I've done quite a lot of changes, here's a list, from the top of my head, maybe the list is even incomplete:
1) Cleaned up HDR settings a lot.
2) Moved some HDR settings to "trade quality" section.
3) Trade quality option "compromise on HDR tone & gamut mapping accuracy" is on by default and activates dumb tone mapping.
4) Trade quality option "compromise on HDR luminance channel quality" is on by default and activates "fast" luminance repair (plus "repair repair").
5) Trade quality option "don't measure HDR frame peak luminance" if off by default and disables measurements + dynamic tone mapping.
6) Moved measurement file folder setting to a separate settings page.
7) Renamed "user interface" settings folder to "configuration".
8) High quality luminance repair defaults to 300@0.010 for now, but I'm still listening to feedback, e.g. 1000@0.008 etc are still valid options.
9) Ported the "Atomic Blonde fix" to the measurement algo.
10) Fixed broken measurements, due to "Atomic Blonde fix".
11) Had to break/change measurement file format once more...
12) Added a header field to the measurement file format which allows you to optionally define a "target peak nits" value for each movie.
13) Added an optional measurement file format section which allows you to define a specific "target peak nits" value for each movie frame.
14) madMeasureHDR.exe now reports mastering display black level, too.
15) madMeasureHDR.exe now reports metadata even if measurements are incomplete.
16) madMeasureHDR.exe no longer reports MaxCLL 99.8% and 99.0%.
17) Live measurements are no longer taken, if a complete measurement file is available (to save performance).
18) Black bars are now excluded from Avg/MaxFALL measurements.
This is a release candidate build. Which means, no further feature changes are planned atm. Just bug fixes and minor tweaks (if at all). Would like to release a new official build very soon now.
As mentioned above, unfortunately I had to break the measurement file format once more. I'm sorry about that. The change was necessary to make the "Atomic Blonde fix" work with measurement files, too. Here's a description of the file format changes:
a) The file format version number is now 6 instead of 5.
b) The header size is now 10 DWORDs instead of 9.
c) The new header field is "TargetPeakNits" and is always set to 0 by madMeasureHDR. If you set this value to a specific number, madVR will use that number as the "target peak nits" setting for this one movie, instead of the "target peak nits" setting from your HDR settings page.
d) The old histogram section looked like this:
