Urgent advice for Pioneer Plasma 436xde
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am experiencing lip sync problems with my new (christmas box) Pioneer 43inch 436XDE Plasma. I purchased it from Dixons who quickly arranged for an engineer to come out and look at it. I have been advised by the engineer that there is indeed a fault with voice lag (out of sync), this was also evident/supported by text lag, the scrolling text on sky news was all blurred - this I was advised (by the engineer) was all related. The engineer said that the previous Pioneer plasmas (435 models?) carried this fault but it was the first time he had come across it on the 436 version. The problem also gets worse when setting the plasma to 100hz form 75. The engineer said that there was no need to return the plasma, just the media box as this is where the problem is emanating from. I spoke with Dixons prior to the engineers visit and they said if need be they would replace everything. What do you think I should do as I think that replacing it may not cure the problem as I have read on the threads that this fault is not rare as advised by the engineer. I dont really want to return the plasma only to have the same problem as before with a new plasma. I have lost confidence, and it is a lot of money to pay for some accepted known fault. Advice most welcome - should I just get my money back, look for a better plasma, or ask for a huge reduction off my original price £2600 and invest in a felston box, which I understand will cure the problem?

Trader Rating: (0) The scrolling is probably an easy fix: Turn off Pure Cinema.
Also, it is my understanding that lip sync problems is present on all plasmas, but I don't know why.
If it's not extreme, then maybe you'll just have to stop noticing it.
If turning off Pure Cinema helps you out, then you'll know how much that engineer knew about your problems...
