DVD651 1. Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray.
2. Press the Setup button on your remote control.
3. Press the Next button on your remote control.
4. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
5. Press the Next button on your remote control.
6. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
7. A code should appear on the top left hand corner of the onscreen display.
8. Using the direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback.
9. You can also change the code to VER 3001 to enable parental controls, or VER 3000 to disable these controls.
10. You can also change the code to VER 4001 to enable Macrovision, or VER 4000 to disable this feature.
11. Press the Setup button on your remote control.
12. VER5000 plays VCD and VER5001 disables this feature.

PDV-2000 1. The procedure must be done WITHOUT a disc in the player, and  the remote control must be used.
2. Turn on the player.
3. Press Setup on the remote control.
4. In the Setup menu, press Sub-T, Zoom, Prev, Next.
5. On the top of the screen you will see "XX1XX".
6. With the arrows on the remote control, press Left or Right to change until the desired region number appears.
7. After you have selected the region, press SETUP to go back to the main screen.

XD-DW1 1.  Open the drive lid and insert any disc, then close the lid.
2.  Open the drive lid and remove the disc.
3.  Close the drive lid and immediately press the STOP button on the unit.
4.  After a few moments, enter 8,7,1,0 on the remote coontrol.
5.  Press 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, etc, or FAST FORWARD for multiregion.

XD-DW7 1.  Open the drive lid and insert any disc, then close the lid.
2.  Open the drive lid and remove the disc.
3.  Close the drive lid and immediately press the STOP button on the unit (ie almost in synchronization).
4.  After a few moments, enter 8,7,2,0 on the remote coontrol.
5.  Press 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, etc, or FAST FORWARD for multiregion.

Note: if this method doesn't work, then try the method above for DW1 model, or try the next method:

1. Turn the player on with no disc inserted and wait until "No Disc" appears on the display.
2. Press Stop on the remote control, followed by 8, 7, 3, 0, followed by the region number required, or use Fast Forward for region free.

XD-DV480 1. Connect the DVD player.
2. Use the remote control to turn power on.
3. Wait until "No Disc" appears.
4. Press Pause and key in the following: 8, 9, 2, 6 - the display will show "CODE__".
5. Within 5 seconds press 00 for all regions, or enter region number (01, 02 etc).
6. Press Pause and Power.

To view the firmware version of this player:

1. Press the Setup button on the remote control.
2. Select TV Aspect and place the cursor on the 16:9 Wide option.
3. Using the remote control enter the code 1, 3, 9, 7, 1, 3 and 9.
4. Press the Enter button.
5. You should now see the version information screen.
6. Pressing Setup button on the remote control to exit this info.

HT-DV90 1. Press the DVD/CD button on the remote control.
2. Press the Open button on the remote control to open the drive tray.
3. Using the remote control, press the buttons C, 2, 5, 8, 0 and C, in order, one at a time.
4. The word TESTMODE should appear on the DVD display, and the onscreen display should indicate the current region setting.
5. Press the Up Arrow on your remote control until 14 02 is shown on the onscreen display.
Note: The 02 indicates the current region and may be different depending on what your player is currently set to.
6. Using the remote control, press the buttons 1 and then 4, then enter 0 and 0 for multi-region, or 0 and 1 for region 1, or 0 and 2 for region 2, and so on.
7. Press the Enter button on the remote control.
8. Press the Return button on the remote control.
9. The word TESTMODE should appear on the DVD display.
10. Press the C button on your remote control.
11. A message should be displayed stating EEP CLR followed by EEP ERR.
12. Place your DVD in the drive tray.
13. Press the Return button on the remote control.

XD-DV50 1. Press the power button on the player to turn the unit off.
2. Press and hold the Top Menu, Menu and Display buttons on the unit until the word Factory appears on the LCD display.
3. Press the power button on the player to turn the unit off.
4. Insert any disc and power on the player.
Another method if the above doesn't work:

1. Press the power button on the player to turn the unit off.
2. Press and hold the Top Menu, Menu and Display buttons on the unit until the word Factory appears on the LCD display.
3. Quickly press the power button on the player to turn the unit on
NB: If the hack does not work, you need to perform this step much sooner after step 2.

用PLAY(+)和STOP(-)键改变A：00为A：05
用Skip-Forward (+)和Skip-Backward (-)改变D：12为D:00
关机
现在你的DVD机是全区码机。
也可以将D：12改为D：01来得到1区机，或者D：02来得到2区机。

按住FF、Stop和DVD机上的小黑色键
开机
当DVD机屏上出现AKAI字样时，松开FF、Stop(还要继续按住DVD机上的小黑色键)
当DVD机屏上出现一串数字后，按遥控器上的Enter键选择第二列
用Cursor Right键使DVD机屏上的数字改变为00
再按遥控器上的Enter
关机
松开DVD机上的小黑色键
开机
现在你的DVD机成了全区机

DVD-2100 1. Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray.
2. Press the buttons 3, 8, 3 and 8 on your remote control, in order, one at a time.

DV-P2500 Method 1:

1. Turn on the player, without a disc in the tray.
2. When the player displays the message, "NO DISC", key in the following on the remote control: Stop, 8, 3, 8, 2.
3. A "System Setup" page should appear.
4. Choose Region Code from the menu.
5. Using the remote control, press Select, Up/Down buttons to get to  change region to selected number.
6. Press Select button to confirm.
7. Press Return to go back to the front page.

Method 2:

1. Turn on the player.
2. Open the player's tray.
3. Using the remote control, key in the following: 8, 9, 2, 6, followed by the region number, or 0 for region free.

1. Power on the player,
2. Press Open button to open the tray,

4. Press 49540 on remote control in turn, ( press the keys rapidly ). A new menu line occours
5. Select VERSION and then push PLAY
6. Select REGION CODE
7. Push > button and change the region code with up/down buttons. 0 is multi region.
8. Press SETUP button to confirm.
9. You can change the VCD setting from same menu

在新的软件版本中：

按照你刚才看到的区码输入下面的数字：
1区机输入2, 9, 3, 3和4
2区机输入3, 8, 7, 6 和7
3区机输入5, 6, 7, 3和2
4区机输入7, 6, 8, 8和4
5区机输入5, 3, 8, 1和4
6区机输入2, 4, 4, 6和2
然后DVD机屏幕上就会出现你的DVD机相应的区码
再按9得到全区机，或者1得到1区机，2得到2区机，依此类推
再按DVD机上的Open
再按遥控器上的Standby键
如果你在播放的时候停在FBI警告信息这里，按快进Forward Search x2

Hyundai H DV 2000 打开仓门，输入你的DVD机的原始区码，再按play (屏幕上出现错误提示信息).
按Play.
输入258.
再输入1=1区机，2=2区机，依此类推
然后又会出现另一个错误提示信息，不管它。
现在已经被设置成了你想要的区码

JMB DVD 3000 和Grundig GDV 211相同  
JVC XV-2000 关机并等待5秒钟
按住DVD机上的DVD Menu和On Screen键
开机
松开你按住的DVD Menu和On Screen键
按Standby键，DVD机屏上出现TEST字样。
按DVD机上的DVD Menu键两次
DVD机屏上会出现000 5858
用up和down键改为000为02E
用Left和Right键，改后面的4位数字为0000 就得到全区机，0101得到1区机， 0202得到2区机，依此类推
按DVD机上的Enter
按Standby得到5秒钟
再按Standby键
搞定，改过的信息被存储下来。

JVC XV-511
JVC XV-522 确信DVD机中没有碟片
关机并拔掉电源插头
按住DVD机上的Play和Open/Close键，插上电源插头。TEST字样和软件版本好将出现在DVD机的屏上。
放开这两个键，按DVD机上的3D-Phonic
按Menu键两次
当屏幕上出现000 5858时，用up和down键改000为02E
用Left和Right键改后4位数字0000及得到全区机，0101为1区机，0202为2区机，依此类推
按DVD机上的Enter
按Standby并等待5秒钟
再按Standby开机，你的DVD机就是全区机了！

DVD280 1.  There are at leaast two versions of this player.
2.  If you have a service port, which is similar to a PS2 mouse port next to your S-Video port at the back of the player and also have a PAL/AUTO/NTSC switch and if the player says PLEASE INSERT DISC on the display then you have the Pioneer clone version, which unfortunately cannot be hacked by remote and YOU WILL have to get it chipped, or reprogrammed via the service port.
3.  If your player has no service port, no PAL/AUTO/NTSC switch at the back and the display says NO DISC, then you have another as yet unconfirmed player.  The following hack may work for you.
4.  Press OPEN/CLOSE, ZOOM, A-B, UP, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT on the remote control.
5.  The words REGION FREE should briefly appear on the screen to confirm success.
6.  If the words do not appear, press OPEN/CLOSE, 1, 1, 1, 1.  The message should then appear.

4. You should now see the region number.

DVD service Disc No.2 all the info is supplied.
2. It doesn't tell you what it does but the codes turn your player into multiregion.
3. For disabling Macrovision follow the same steps and replace code 3192 to 3193 after you have done the multiregion upgrade.
4. Note This discs works with the new RA players as well.

As a memo you can import it into OmniRemote with this menu command:
Advanced-->Databases-->Import category

When done, point your PDA towards your DV-454, put OmniRemote in TV-mode and press 0 (Zero)

3.  Boot into the PS2 browser without a CD/DVD in the tray.
4.  Press CIRCLE and R1 on the DVD
5.  Hold RIGHT until a menu appears.
6.  Press CIRCLE and R1 again.

Method 4:

1.  Load the DVD into the PS2.
2.  At the browser screen, select the CD icon the press and hold SQUARE then CIRCLE until the DVD menu appears, holding both buttons all of the time.

万利达520未见于说明书的秘技

1、查看版本。在停止状态下（无论是否置有盘片，下同），按压“暂停/单步播放”键5-7秒，电视屏幕上方会显示：SDKxxx Data:xxxxx字样。俺的机器显示为：SDK1017 Data: Jan 8 2002 time:15:29。看来程序数据的升级日期是今年初。
附带说明一下，万利达网站上提供有某些型号机器的升级文件和说明，如N996的全区升级、520的全区和兼容DVD-audio升级，甚至有560一些BUG的修正……。据说明，520一款，如果日期在2001年12月底之前，就需要进行全区升级。
(yekai：也可表明你的机器的生产时间)。
2、音频信号测试。在停止状态下，按“声音”键，立刻有噪声信号发出。

3、视频信号测试。在停止状态下，按“角度”键，电视屏幕的开机画面会依次改变为DVD标志和白、红、绿、蓝、黄、紫、青、灰等单色场。

此外，N996未进行全区升级前的选择区码“秘技”为：在停止状态下按压“清除”键5-7秒，电视屏幕出现蓝场；按所需区码的数字键；按“清除”键。在520上，按压“清除”键仍会出现蓝场，但按数字键后没发现什么改变。嘿嘿当然，俺也不知道是否会有什么副作用……

再此外，说明书上提到的一个秘技也是有用的，即

4、按压“字幕”键5秒以上（无论在停止或播放状态下），会在逐行和隔行模式之间切换。记得以前有人问过万利达某型号（忘了是996还是520了）扫描模式错误的话，视频与音频信号均消失，--此时就是运用这个“秘技”的时候了。


DVP-520升级说明

在停止状态下，持续按压遥控器上的暂停键5秒钟以上，可在屏幕上看到当前软件的版本号，例如SDK1114，表示11月14日版本。升级前后可利用该功能来检查升级成功与否。本升级程序适合2001年12月30日前生产的机器。
升级步骤：
1、将机器后面板上的升级开关拨到UPGRADE位置。
2、接通电源，将CD-R升级光盘放入托盘。
3、待屏幕上方显示一行很长的英文提示后，按压"向上"方向键，机器即进入升级状态。此时，屏幕无任何显示。升级过程大约需要2分钟，请耐心等待。升级过程中不可断电。
4、升级结束后，机器会自动返回开机画面。
5、按压出仓键，取出CD-R升级光盘。
6、关断电源，将机器后面板上的升级开关拨回NORMAL位置。
升级不成功的应对：
　　由于某种原因，个别机器可能会出现升级不成功，若5秒钟后机器不能自动返回开机画面，多半为升级失败，用户只能手动取出碟片，并送万利达维修中心更换程序存储器，换下的程序存储器可寄回厂家重新烧写，再利用。

再谈万利达PDVD-N996玩法　

　　一、版本显示功能：你想知道自己的机子是何版本吗？那很容易：只要在停止状态下按压遥控器上的"暂停"键2~3秒，电视机屏幕上端就会显示出你这台机器的版本号和日期。如笔者的机器显示的是：SDK1211 Data: DEC 18 2000 Time: 17:11，意即版本号1211，日期：2000年12月18日17时11分。这使爱玩影音器材的用户可以对自己的机器状况心中有数。

　　二、音、视频信号发生器功能：如果你是一位经常喜欢动手搞些小制作、小维修的电子爱好者，那必定经常会需要一个音频或视频测试信号。你可以把N996当作一台简易信号发生器来用，而且此时，激光头并不工作，所以也不会影响机器的寿命。
　　1、在停止状态下按压遥控器上的"声音"键，你就能在模拟音频输出端得到一个
　　 　音频测试信号（噪声），再按一下则无声（据笔者试验，如用数码音频输出
　　 　送至解码功放，则只有中置声道有声音）。
　　2、在停止状态下如果按压遥控器上的"角度"键则可以得到视频测试信号。反复按动
　　 　此键，则屏幕上的画面会从开机画面 DVD标志画面 白色场 接着是红、绿、蓝、
　　 　黄、紫、绿、白单色场连续变换，最后返回开机画面。

　　三、屏幕保护功能：为保护彩电荧光屏不会因长时间的静止画面而灼伤，不少DVD机都有屏幕保护功能，N996也不例外。当荧屏上的静止图像（不论是开机画面还是放像过程中"暂停"的画面）连续超过三分钟时，屏幕上的整幅图像就消失了，而代之以不规则的各部分画面交替闪烁出现，犹似夜空中的礼花，既保护了荧光屏，也很有趣。

　　四、"强制性"的特技功能：N996的特技功能是强制运行的，不需要碟片的支持。因此，任何DVD碟乃至VCD碟都能进行放大、缩小、画幅变换等，大大增强了此机的可玩性。

　　五、智能升级功能：只要对N996进行"智能升级"，它就能播放各区碟片了！"升级"可以到万利达公司各地的特约维修部去进行，也可以邮购一张升级光盘自己进行。由于笔者所在小县城没有特约维修部，故我采取了后一种办法。具体做法如下：
　　1、把机器后背的"智能升级开关"拨向左侧；
　　2、接通电源，开启片仓，放入升级专用光碟；
　　3、按播放键，片刻电视屏幕上即会出现Firmware Upgrade, press up（程序升
　　 　级，请按up键）字样；
　　4、按机器面板（或遥控器）十字键的"上"，约二三分钟后屏幕上重新出现开机画
　　 　面，此时升级已经完成；
　　5、将机背的升级开关拨回原位，机器即可正常使用。
　　经过"升级"，我这台N996已能播放任一地区的原版碟。此外 "视频滤波器"的三种模式选择也增加到了五种，即增加了"摄像1"和"摄像2"模式，以供用户根据碟片画面的情况作出选择。(据《电子报》)

2. The map should show on the screen.
3. Press the Stop button twice.
4. Wait until the Press Play to Continue sign disappears.
5. Press Play once.
6. Wait for 5 seconds and a Program sign will appear.
7. Press Play twice.
8. A Continue sign should appear.
9. Press the Play key once and the film should then play.

Region Select and disable Macrovision:

1. Press Eject and remove all discs from the tray.
2. Close the tray.
3. Using the remote control, key in the following: Pause, 1, 2, 3.
4. A loopholes menu should appear, allowing you to change region and disable Macrovision.

对于目前国内市场常见的DVD机来说，鲜有消费者自己改区的可能，基本上都是需要专用的工具，譬如经过“学习”的遥控器、碟片等等。所以在购机时请销售商改好是非常重要的，当然一些中小城市的销售商可能并不具备改区的能力，比较麻烦，而大城市一般无此问题。
