　プラズマパネル生産撤退を受け、ホームエレクトロニクス事業で、2010年3月期の黒字化を目指す方針。今後はディスプレイと連携したAV機器やBD関連製品による売り上げ拡大による収益改善を図り、AV機器のネットワーク化やワイヤレス化を推進。ソースとディスプレイをワイヤレス接続する「次世代壁掛けテレビ」の実現を目指す。 　BDについては、自社開発を「全世界で普及が見込めるプレーヤーに絞り込んでいく」としている。一方で、共同開発やアウトソーシングを進めることで、レコーダなどのラインナップ拡充も予定。デバイスの外販も拡大していくという。

　また、シャープとの提携の進捗については、シャープが進めている超薄型テレビ用音響システムの開発に参画。また、シャープからの供給を受けた液晶テレビを2008年秋に欧州より投入。さらに、KUROシリーズの高画質/音質の思想を受け継ぐという液晶テレビの開発も進めていくという。
　テレビ以外でも、DVDプレーヤー/レコーダなどの光ディスク関連製品で相互供給などを進め、BDプレーヤー/レコーダについてもピックアップやドライブの開発を共同で実施。開発効率の向上、数量拡大によるコスト低減を狙う。また、カーエレクトロニクスでも、AQUOSケータイとパイオニアのカーナビを組み合わせた新価値提案を予定している。
　また、「事業拡大が最も重要な分野」と位置付けているカーエレクトロニクスでは、カーナビを車内の総合情報端末として携帯電話やインターネットとの連携を強化。今後もAV機能を充実させるなど、高機能化を進め、人気を集めるポータブルナビに対抗する。さらに、スピーカー事業にも注力。東北パイオニア完全子会社化の成果を出すことなどで、中期的に事業規模を約1.5倍に拡大させるという。
