另readme.pdf都是英文,看不懂,哪位老大帮忙.谢谢!!
******** Instruction Manual for upgrading STR********
Last Update on 21st Nov 2002
This is to introduce the upgrading method of amplifier main firmware. Please prepare the
below items (no particular application install necessary):
1. Self extracting FLASH overwriting program (ESup0173.exe)
2. Latest FLASH program file (es02v119.bin)
3. RS-232C cross cable (Inter-link cable etc.)
4. DOS/V PC with RS232C port and Windows 95/ 98/ 2000 installed.
(Windows XP is not acceptable.)
5. Applicable amplifier (STR-DA4ES/DA7ES/VA333ES)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Caution!!
Before starting the operation, disconnect the power amplifier or the power supply of the
power amplifier. Otherwise the operation may cause noise or power amplifier damage.
Before re-supplying power to the power amplifier, be sure to disconnect RS232C cable.
If connected, symptoms such as abnormal display, abnormal sound and noise may occur
when turning on/off the power supply of the PC, which could either damage the power
amplifier or the speakers.
While implementing the FLASH overwrite program, never cut off the power supply to the
amplifier main unit. That could damage the flush memory installed in the amplifier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step1) Connect PC with applicable amplifier
Turn off the power supply of the PC and Applicable amplifier, and connect them with the
RS-232C cross type cable.
Connect one end of the cables to the serial port (COM1, COM2) on the PC main unit, and
the other end to RS-232C connector located on the rear side of the amplifier main unit.
For using cross cable, we recommend you to use the one called "Inter-link cable". Also,
RS232C cross cable (9pin- 9pin) for connecting DOS/V can also be used.

Recommended cables: Sanwa Supply KRS-L09-2K or equivalent( Inter-link)

Note!
The displayed firmware version on the screen with Installation procedure from the next
page is the display when you use “es02V118.bin”.
Please note that the display will change depends on the program version you use.
For example, all of “Ver 1.18” will be displayed “Ver 1.19” on the screen when you use
“es02V19.bin”.
Step 2) Applicable amplifier boot-up and FLASH WRITER
startup
First, power applicable amplifier on and boot up the PC.
Make an adequate folder on the hard drive using Windows Explorer etc. and copy the two
downloaded EXE files into this folder.
Double-click on the FLASH overwriting program(ESup0173.exe) icon to start FLASH
Overwrite Program on the hard disc.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3) Select communication criteria and program file
Select the COM port that was connected at Step 1 in the item "COM PORT No." of FLASH
WRITER window, and select the communication speed of "BAUD RATE". In most cases,
overwriting at 57,600bps is possible. Reduce the speed only when overwrite error occurs
due to the noise.
Now select and open the latest FLASH program file (es02v119.bin) obtained by clicking
"FILE SELECT" button located on the left bottom corner of the window.
“STR-DA4ES/DA7ES/VA333ES/VZ555ES” and the firmware version is displayed in the
center of the window, and "NEXT” button is available.
Click “NEXT” button and input “mf8mxk” into the CD KEY box.
Confirmation panel of Applicable model name appears.
(Note) Version number may appear in the last part of Current Version. This is not
malfunction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4) Implementation and completion of overwriting
Make sure the power supply of the amplifier is on, and press "START" button located on
the bottom center of the window and start upgrading.
Upgrading takes about three - five minutes. While overwriting, do not turn off the
power of amplifier and the PC.
The progress can be confirmed at the displayed bar above the window.
Once the message "Firmware update completed" is displayed, press "OK" and terminate
Overwrite program by clicking "QUIT".
Turn off power supply of the amplifier and remove the RS-232C cable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**** Trouble shooting ****
# It is normal for the power supply goes on/off for several times until the end of upgrading.
# In case of "Communication Error" after pressing "START" button, please confirm the
below points:
1. Is the power ON to the applicable amplifier?
2. Are the cables connected firmly?
3. Correct RS232C cables are used? (Overwrite cannot be done with the one of
straight connection type)
4. Is Cable connected to the correct COM PORT number?
5. Is the connected COM PORT available at the PC side? (Check to see if the installed
modem occupies the port or not.)
# Please be sure to copy FLASH Overwrite program and the latest FLASH program file
to the hard disc before use. Booting up from the floppy disc may cause failure due to the
slow access speed.
# In case of unsuccessful overwriting, press "START" button and start overwriting again
from the beginning.
# Overwriting may fail if any other Windows applications are run during the operation.
